Commerzbank - Piazza Goes Live - Thanks to Xoomworks
Xoomworks managed a project to put Ariba Buyer into operation quickly and smoothly for one of the world’s leading banks
The challenge: Commerzbank, one of the largest in Europe with millions of customers worldwide, decided to replace its inefficient in-house process for buying commodities and services with Ariba Buyer.This would provide a single global purchasing platform, to be known within Commerzbank as Piazza.
The Xoomworks solution: Having selected Ariba Buyer, Commerzbank asked Xoomworks to carry out the functional and technical design followed by the implementation across Germany and the UK, serving more than 4,000 users. The implementation included integration with the existing SAP system. Xoomworks were selected, Commerzbank said, because of their proven experience, excellent client relations and impressive project plan.
Xoomworks began by investigating all aspects of the project with Commerzbank personnel in Frankfurt and London to make sure requirements were consistent in both locations and that clear direction for a successful project was established.
As the project progressed Xoomworks worked closely with Commerzbank personnel, advising them on crucial aspects of the solution’s configuration. In addition to the technical implementation Xoomworks delivered support to the bank on all matters relating to business change, including change management, end-user training and user acceptance testing.
The results: The system went live in Frankfurt just ten months after project launch and in London six months later, enabling more than 4,000 users to place an average of 500 orders every day.The system was built to the highest standards of quality and performance with Xoomworks providing technical consulting for the hardware, operating system, software installation and configuration. Xoomworks provided excellent project management throughout, with a focus on successfully managing the change required to support a major implementation.
On completing the project, Commerzbank felt confident in asking Xoomworks to continue providing support and maintenance for its Ariba Buyer - Piazza - system, and Xoomworks provide a dedicated on-site team to support the application and manage further enhancements.
